This is a one day class held at a private outdoor range.
This course will help prepare you to responsibly carry a defensive handgun. The basics of defensive shooting will be practiced on the range. You will consider the legal and emotional consequences of a violent encounter, how to manage the aftermath. NRA certificate will be issued to those that meet the shooting qualifications.
If you carry a firearm or use a firearm for personal/home defense, YOU NEED TRAINING.
If you have or are planning to get a “License to carry a handgun” YOU NEED TRAINING.

NRA Defensive Pistol Basics

NRA Personal Protection in the Home

The Personal Protection in the Home Course covers defensive shooting. Strategies designed to deter burglars, home invaders and other criminals are dealt with. Mindset, legal issues, decision-making under pressure, and planning for the worst are also discussed. You will consider the legal and emotional consequences of a violent encounter, how to manage the aftermath.
The course is designed around the use of a defensive pistol. A center fire double-action revolver or semi-automatic pistol of .38 Special /9mm Para or greater caliber is recommended.
Students must be law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, and local laws. And must poses basic skills of safe gun handling as taught in the NRA basic pistol course. Participants need to have sufficient maturity and experience to make sound decisions.

NRA Personal Protection outside the Home

The Personal Protection outside the home course develops the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective, and responsible use of a concealed handgun for self-defense outside the home

Concealed Carry Fundamentals

Course is based on the materials from the United States Concealed Carry Association. This course will prepare you to responsibly carry a defensive handgun. You will learn the how to prepare an effective personal and home defense plan. The basics of defensive shooting will be learned and practiced on the range. You will consider the legal and emotional consequences of a violent encounter, how to manage the aftermath.
Class is limited to eight participants
This is not the required class to obtain your Texas License to carry a handgun
